Portsmouth’s bid for MozCation even caught the attention of the Mayor!
I just received an email from Portsmouth’s Mayor, Eric Spear that he asked me to share with the good folks of SEOmoz:
My office has just learned of your MozCation contest through the ardent efforts of a fiery coalition of Portsmouth creatives and tech professionals that have been putting on an enthusiastic campaign for Portsmouth, New Hampshire as a site for you to visit. As I’m sure you have seen already, our local creative community has rallied behind this campaign, and stories are popping up in local news sources and being circulated online. We are thrilled to see your messages that you like what you’ve seen from Portsmouth so far!In my duties as City Councilor, and now as Mayor of the City of Portsmouth, I have seen firsthand time and time again the creativity, dedication, and passion that Portsmouth residents and businesspeople bring to their endeavors. The collaborative spirit of the tech community in this city is unlike anything I’ve witnessed in any other. It’s great to see an industry rally around something that will be great for the city as a whole.Mozcation will provide useful expertise for our small businesses struggling to gain online visibility, and I strongly support this endeavor, which has been taken up by our citizens, and which will be of great benefit for many Portsmouth businesses. Connecting our businesses with each other and with other local resources is always of great mutual benefit, and the energy that MozCation brings to the field of web developing will help inspire our young students to get involved with an industry that desperately needs more experts. The positive and fun spirit of SEOmoz is something that fits in perfectly with the spirit of Portsmouth. As the Mayor of Portsmouth, I would to express my formal support of MozCation in Portsmouth, and send out my warmest invitation to Rand, Roger and the whole team at SEOmoz. Portsmouth is ready and eager to welcome you with open arms, and show you our shops, restaurants, breweries, parks and wonderful local scenery and people, who all just can’t wait to host you.Warmest RegardsEric Spear
What are you waiting for, SEOmoz?! Come to Portsmouth!
