A favorite event for many in Portsmouth, Beat Night takes place upstairs at the Press Room from 7–9pm on the third Thursday of every month.
My Vital colleague Matt was, as you can tell by the above photo (and see for yourself in the video below), quite a delight at this month’s Beat Night, as were fellow features Jason and Tamara. The feature portion of the event takes place from 7–8pm.
The open mic portion of the evning, the 8–9pm hour, was a really fun mix this month as well, kicking off with a harmonica player. There was also a reader with a list of potential orthopedic footbed names, and of course, some more traditional poems. Anything goes at Beat Night. That’s one of the great things about it.
