Where the Guns Go
Sunday, May 21, 4pm – 6pm at Discover Portsmouth
More than 110,000 Mexicans have died from armed violence in the past 17 years. Seventy percent of the weapons recovered at crime scenes came from the United States through both legal and illegal pathways. Perhaps the biggest supplier is the Sig Sauer corporation, which has a $266 million contract to arm the Mexican government.
If you care about how guns made right here in New Hampshire, and sold to the Mexican government, are affecting the everyday lives of people in Mexican communities, you must attend this event.
Hear from not only people who have studied and written about Mexican firearms issues for years, but also from a Mexican mother of eight, including four sons who were forcibly disappeared by police agents.
This type of awareness is critical to understanding our responsibility as members of a local community and a global community.
The event is presented by a coalition of many groups, including: the American Friends Service Committee with Seacoast Peace Response, Seacoast Resistance, New Castle Promise, Amnesty International USA, NH Peace Action, and Occupy Seacoast.
