PortsmouthLOVE publishes news, notes and neat events from in and around Portsmouth, NH and the greater Seacoast area.
Our publishers aim to have a particular focus on things that promote civic engagement, promote local and community-minded causes and help spread the word for organizations and arts groups that don’t have a marketing budget.
History
What started as a hashtag coined by Crystal Paradis in 2012 grew into monthly curated Storify recaps in 2013, and then a weekly email newsletter in 2014. The email newsletter, originally published through TinyLetter, established its trademark features: CULE (Curated Upcoming Local Events), Oh My COD* #PortsmouthLOVE Notes, ICYMI (In Case You Missed It) event recaps, #MotorcycleLOVE adventures and #PortsmouthLOVE Highlights.
After a hiatus in 2016, Crystal revived The #PortsmouthLOVE Letter in February 2017, with the addition of the Civic Engagement and #PortsmouthLOVE Pup features, and new original videos.
In May 2017, The #PortsmouthLOVE Letter migrated to MailChimp, and PortsmouthLOVE.com launched as a standalone website (after being redirected to a page on the founder’s personal websites since 2013).
